The third volume of the publication titled ’Life and Work of Female Members of the Serbian Learned Society Serbian Royal Academy and Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts’ published by the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts won the award for advancing innovative educational practices at the 7th Festival of Humanities, Culture and Arts which was held in December 2024, in the PTT Museum in Belgrade.

The four-volume publication ’Life and Work of Female Members of the Serbian Learned Society Serbian Royal Academy and Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts’ holds a special place among the Academy’s editions. The editor-in-chief is Academician Nebojša Lalić, while Academician Dušica Lečić Toševski is the publication’s editor and Academician Nada Milošević-Đorđević is the honorary editor of the publication, thanks to whom biographies have been gathered and under whose supervision the publication was embarked upon. The overview of life and work of 47 female members of the Academy and its predecessors, authored by academicians, university professors and research associates, in four extensive volumes, richly accompanied by photographs, facsimiles and reproductions and two CDs featuring Ljubica Marić’s music in volume I and Isidora Žebeljan’s music in Volume III prove that the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts was a pioneer among national academies in terms of gender equality, which editor Academician Dušica Lečić Toševski highlighted in the foreword of this publication.
