Scientific conference ’COVID-19 Pandemic: Messages, New Findings and Dilemmas’
The scientific conference ’COVID-19 Pandemic: Messages, New Findings and Dilemmas’ which is to be held at the SASA Grand Hall, on Friday, 10 a.m., aims to present the activities of SASA related to the latest scientific findings on the COVID-19 pandemic, as part of continuous efforts of the Academy in this field both on national and international level.
Immediately after the outbreak of COVID-19 infection, SASA set up the SASA Commission for monitoring and response to COVID-19 infection to inform the public and SASA members on the most vital aspects of this disease and give recommendations for its prevention, including the importance of vaccination in controlling the pandemic.
The conference will primarily feature the lectures of SASA members and members of the Board for Immunology and Allergology of the Department of Medical Sciences of SASA, who will from various standpoints present the latest findings in epidemiology, virology, immunology and clinical manifestations of COVID-19 infection, as well as complex complications this infection causes viewed from the perspective of the so-called post-COVID-19 syndrome. This event is an opportunity to present prolific scientific work of SASA members and their associates in the field of COVID-19 infection, through an overview of results published in renowned international journals and work on projects within the Special Research Program COVID-19 of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, noting that three among 14 in total have been allocated to members of the Academy.
