Scientific Conference ‘Economy – Serbia’s Economic Development and its’ Determinants’
Within the series titled ‘Strategic Directions of Serbia’s Development in the 21st Century’, a two-day scientific conference ‘Economy – Serbia’s Economic Development and its Determinants’ will open on Thursday, 5 December, at 10 a.m. at the SASA Grand Hall.
Serbia has reached an intermediate stage of development, a point when according to the international experience many face prolonged stagnation. This conference aims to address strategies for avoiding such a scenario through sixteen presentations that delve into various aspects of Serbia’s economic growth and its influencing factors.
On this occasion, the analysis will include immediate economic growth drivers, encompassing historical, social, and economic factors, as well as the impact of (de)globalization on Serbia’s future growth trajectory. Special focus will be given to entrepreneurship, the startup ecosystem, and technological progress particularly artificial intelligence since they represent key pedals of growth in developed economies that Serbia aspire to reach. Another point to be discussed is unfavourable demographic trends in Serbia hinder economic growth. An analysis of economic inequality in Serbia, should provide insights into the distribution of growth benefits within the society.
