Scientific Conference ’Serbian Scholarly Criticism up to the Second World War’

Organised by the SASA Board for the Study of Literature’, the two-day scientific conference titled ’Serbian Scholarly Criticism up to the Second World War’ will take place on Monday, 24 November, at 10 a.m. at the SASA Grand Hall. The conference will feature 28 lecturers from several scientific centres, including Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, Banja Luka and East Sarajevo.

Scholarly criticism will be examined within the system of literary-historical research, which includes literary history, literary theory, literary criticism, comparative studies, philology, scholarly publishing of materials, etc. The conference will also analyse how scholarly criticism has approached the periods that shaped its own development, as well as the contributions of key figures in the second half of the 19th century and the early decades of the 20th century, including Jovan Skerlić, Ljubomir Nedić, Vladimir Ćorović, Bogdan Popović, Dragiša Živković, Predrag Palavestra, Jovan Deretić, and others.
