Serbian Literary Critique of the 20th Century
A two-day scientific conference titled ‘Serbian Literary Critique of the 20th Century’, organized by the SASA Department of Languages and Literature’s Board for the Study of the History of Literature, will open on Monday, 21 October, at the SASA Grand Hall, at 10 a.m.
Literary critique has tremendous significance for literature and culture as the conscience of a literary tradition. It influences stylistic formations and the status of individual writers, as well as major poetic shifts in literary manuscripts. It particularly impacts literary life and literary periodicals and quite often even contributes to the re-evaluation of a national literary tradition.
Since the 20th century marks a period of cultural flourishing in Serbian culture, literature, and literary review, it is quite natural for such an era to be the subject of a scientific conference dedicated to the evolution, changes, methodologies, and rise of literary review and literary concepts.
