Two Concerts at the SASA Gallery within the Scientific Conference Serbian Symphonic Music after 1945

As part of the scientific conference Serbian Symphonic Music after 1945, organised by the Institute of Musicology of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, two concerts will be held at the SASA Gallery between 29 and 31 October.

The first concert, scheduled for Tuesday, 29 October, at 6 p.m., will be dedicated to the chamber music of Dmitry Shostakovich (1906–1975). On this occasion, the CORDA Piano Trio, comprising renowned musicians Una Stanić (violin), Nemanja Stanković (cello), and Vladimir Milošević (piano), will perform Shostakovich’s Piano Trio No. 1, Op. 8 and Piano Trio No. 2, Op. 67.

The following evening, on Thursday, 30 October, at 6 p.m., the concert titled Symphonism in the Piano Music of Serbian Composer Academicians will be held, dedicated to notable piano achievements in the history of 20th-century Serbian classical music. The programme features works by former members of the Department of Fine Arts and Music of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (today the Department of Arts of SASA): Petar Konjović (1883–1970), Stanojlo Rajičić (1910–2000), Milan Ristić (1908–1982), and Vasilije Mokranjac (1923–1984). Pianist Uki Ovaskainen will perform selected piano pieces by these composers, whose symphonic artistic output was shaped by principles evident in their piano compositions.
