WORLD WAR ONE IN MINIATURE

NOV. 8 – 29, 2018

The exhibition, World War One in Miniature, organized by the Oluj scale model club and the Scale Model Club of Belgrade, opens at the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 6 p.m. as part of the celebrations marking the centennial of the end of World War I.

The number of museum exhibits of actual World War I combat technology is rather limited. For this reason, scale models have been chosen as an appropriate means of providing visitors with a three-dimensional impression of technological achievements that may seem almost impossible today. The exhibition features over 80 scale models of World War I military resources, authentically replicated aircraft, vehicles, ships, figures, dioramas and vignettes, as well as several items from the War. Drawings and photographs, combat maps, press clippings and relevant texts are displayed on panels.

The exhibition is intended for a broad audience, particularly schoolgoers and fans of applied art, miniatures and history.

Guided tours of the exhibition are from 4 to 8 p.m. every Friday.
