DOCUMENTARY EXHIBITION
16 – 30 APRIL
Curated by: Professor Svetlana Matić, PhD
The documentary exhibition on the life and work of the first Serbian female mathematician and physicist, Mileva Marić Einstein, has been organised to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of this distinguished scholar.
The exhibition, conceived through photographs by designers from the Prometej publishing house, is thematically and narratively aligned with the novel Mileva Marić Einstein – The Heroine of Life by the curator, Professor Svetlana Matić, PhD. The combination of documentary photographs with accompanying excerpts from the novel creates an effect of a unified visual and literary concept, presented across ten panels.
The aim of this exhibition, which has been presented in a number of venues, including the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Vienna, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, the Mathematical Gymnasium, and the Vuk Endowment in Belgrade, is to highlight the significant contribution of Mileva Marić Einstein to world science, as well as her notable role in the groundbreaking discoveries of Albert Einstein.
A section of the exhibition also presents an overview of initiatives proposing that Mileva Marić Einstein be posthumously awarded a diploma from the ETH Zurich and the Nobel Prize in Physics.
