Scientific Conference ‘The International Day of Immunology 2026’

The Board for Immunology and Allergology of the Department of Medical Sciences of SASA in cooperation with the Immunological Society of Serbia, is marking the International Day of Immunology at the SASA Grand Hall, on Wednesday, 29 April, at 9 a.m.

The International Day of Immunology is observed annually on 29 April, with the aim of reminding the general public of the importance of the immune system for maintaining health and raising awareness of the role of immunology in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of numerous diseases.

The scientific conference aims to highlight the importance of immune system mechanisms in maintaining health and protecting against infections, as well as the significance of vaccination and immunotherapy, and diseases associated with immune system dysfunction, such as allergies, autoimmune diseases, malignancies, and immunodeficiency.

This year’s conference will showcase leading scientific results achieved in recent period in the fields of clinical immunology and basic immunological research. The programme will comprise four sessions featuring 18 short presentations and three keynote lectures.

The conference will be particularly honoured by the participation of distinguished keynote speakers, including SASA Foreign Member Professor Janko Ž. Nikolić (University of Arizona), Professor Branka Bonaci Nikolić (Clinic for Allergology and Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade), and Professor Dušan Bogunović (Columbia University, New York, USA), whose research has made significant contributions to the development of immunology both globally and in Serbia.
